You can clear your clipboard, but it differs with OS. Which system are you using?

Yes, OS stands for Operating System (Windows version)  , well this is what I found. Hope it helps:

Clear Clipboard
We often use the copy and paste commands while working with logins, passwords, credit card numbers and other secure information. But clipboard data can be easily seen by anyone who can access your computer or by the web sites you visit. Using Clear All History you can protect your privacy by clearing your clipboard data.

Clear All History allows you to clear clipboard in Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, 2003, 2000, ME, 98.
Using the 'Clear Clipboard (buffer) after paste with Ctrl+V and/or Shift+Ins' option you may completely remove any information from the clipboard after pasting it with Ctrl + V and/or Shift + Ins or any time you want using the 'Clear All' button.
tips.gif Tips:
The fastest way to clear history tracks:
  • Double-click the Clear All History desktop icon
  • Click the 'Tools' button in the program toolbar.
  • Select What to Clear.
  • Click the 'Quick select' button.
  • Click the 'Clear all selected items' button or click 'Clear All'

Oyyy  lol...ok you should have a delete history icon on your desk top.  I'm using windows 7 and it's hiding under the control panel.  Click that, then on 'clear history' screen make sure clipboard is checked.  Click 'clear now'. Then click apply.  All done.

UGH....

someone hacked into my email (or zombifiedit) as I apparently sent out a spam message...how do I fix this? Will just changing my password be enough?

If it's just spam, then you probably have a virus.  Run a good anti-virus program like AVG ( you can get that for free). Then change your password for added measure.  I would advise running the check on both your laptop and desktop since either could have a virus.

Hi Val, do you think the Dungeon's Daily Trivia could be placed back into the games section? I usually play both trivia's and it's easier for me to get to it throught there. :c)

I have an odd question...

The *news cat* siggie you made for me, when I look at my pictures it shows up OK, but when I post it on the last word set, it JUST shows the first part (the what?? thing)...is this a glitch? It seems to happen with other gifs that have animation too...

Okkk....confuse The first cat (without words) I uploaded traditionally. The 2nd I did copy & paste.  The transponder that handles our FREE activeboard does not support animation upload. However the premium account does, from what I gather. Over in Albums, you will find one titled 'animated siggies ', and you can copy and paste from there.  Click the pic, click full veiw, right click select copy.  Then just paste it into your message.  A bit of work, but a nice work around to keeping the Attic totally free.

So, to answer your question: nope, not a glitch.

Oooh, I almost forgot - don't forget you can create your own album too!

Ok first you need to open a command prompt:

1. Open the Start Menu.

2. Click on All Programs, Accessories, and on Command Prompt

then right click on the title bar of the command prompt and click on Properties.

Click on the Options tab, then check the Quick Edit mode box and click on OK.

That's it, you're done.

I am guessing it is a problem with a plug-in for your web browser.
The plug-in is most likely Flash or Java, or something of the like, possibly Javascript. Is this happening on many websites, or just a few? Is it always the same web sites?

I would try updating both Flash and Java, and make sure your browser is up to date. I'll leave links in my sources to all those websites.

What I am assuming is happening is that a script in a website is trying to use a function that does not exist in your version of the language on your computer, therefore you get an error asking if you want to continue or terminate scripts.

Try the following steps and check if it helps:

a)      Right-click your PowerShell icon and select Run as administrator.

b)      Check the current script execution policy by using the Get-ExecutionPolicy cmdlet. To do this, input “Get-ExecutionPolicy” (without quotes) and press Enter on your keyboard. PowerShell will return a value of Restricted.

c)       To change the script execution policy, use the Set-ExecutionPolicy cmdlet. Input “Set-ExecutionPolicy unrestricted” (without quotes) and press Enter on your keyboard.

d)      To ensure that the script execution policy has been changed, use the Get-ExecutionPolicy cmdlet again. PowerShell should return a value of Unrestricted.

e)      You should now be able to run your PowerShell scripts.

I use AVG (free version) it does a good job. You might also try Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free  along with the AVG. The two work well together. It sounds to me as if maybe you've been 'hijacked' at least partially if you can't get to admin.

this is a different website but still...what does this mean, and is this something that might get affected by this site someday?

General Error

Well the problem lies within their server not you.  Judging from the last tag line, whomever did the programming did not upload (link into) the phpbb data base needed for that particular site. Can it happen here? Well yes and no. Active board is not phpbb based.( Phpbb is an algebraic scripting form.)   However an SQL error can occur just about anywhere.  SQL is a data base language used for accessing and manipulating databases.  It can be very technical. But the guys at Activeboard seem to know their stuff, so I wouldn't worry.

Hi Val,
This isn't really a question. I just wanted to let you know that the HTML tab doesn't work. I usually use this tab to post tags from my photobucket but I can't now.

It must have been some sort of glitch as it appears to be working now.

However currently my screen appears to be overly large - so I'm thinking they're tweaking something on the server.

I just noticed last night that when I post a picture, it shows the picture AND it shows a tiny picture at the bottom of my post with the word 'attachment'. Why is it doing this? It's never done that to me before and is it a normal thing now?

Since I didn't know the answer to your question, I called our friends at Sparklit, who supply us Activeboard. According to Jeff, it is 'normal'.   All that is happening is that after uploading and inserting the picture, it's not being automatically removed from the list. Because of this, you can use the picture multiple times without re-uploading in a particular post. For those you like emoticons or moties, I guess this could be useful.wink_smile.gif  If you don't want the attatchment showing at the bottom (that tiny pic) just click the remove tag once you've inserted your image into the post.  But let's talk about that tiny pic for a second -tongue_smile.gif .  If you click the 'veiw' link at the bottom of the pic, you will see the picture full size, without text. If several pictures are used, you can veiw them as a slide show by clicking on the pic itself.  The reason this is being dne is that it's hard to predict how folks want to use their images, and as always they're trying to please everyone.

Anyway, if I want I can place another wink_smile.gif here without re-uploading it.  I hope this helped!

(Apparently animated gifs are still being flattened as a still).

Val, would it be inappropriate to post a story here, if it has been published on another site ~ not YGS? I do hold the copy-rite... I don't want to step on any toes!

Fergie,

First, I want to say I really appreciate that question! Copyright law and the infringment of it can be quite the sticky wicket. As long as you have the copyrights it's ok. By the way, even stories you have published on YGS you may publish on another site. You retain ownership of those.  What their (and my) objection is to others copying and pasting something another writer posted without that writer's permission, using it  and quite often claiming it as their own.  Granny was just telling me the other day that they had stumbled across a site that had copied just about every story on YGS and were posting them as if they belonged to that site! People just don't get that just because you see it on the internet does not mean it is up for grabs. (Not only that, but to take and use another's stuff without permission is just plain rude!)

Now, let's take your question one step further -  let's say there is something you want to copy and you get permission and all that good stuff - save that permission. Preferrably you have it in writing like an email.  Why? Because if it's ever questioned then you have proof that you were given the ok and any legalities are nipped in the bud.

Looking forwards to that story!

~Val

Val,

Thank you! The stories I was referring to, were actually written by me, but were published already. (Some of them, more than a year ago.) I have them all in "Documents" in "Word". I think plagiarism is a horrible thing to even contemplate, and would never stoop so low..... how some people can, is beyond me.

I will just change the titles of my stories; all of them happened to me. I just don't have the imagination to write fiction!

Fergie - you own the stories, you don't even need to change the titles - unless you've thought of a better title???
