Gray first light,
peeks in through my window,
as the first rosey fingers of dawn,
draw back night's curtain.
Bitter sweet memories,
play a soft melody,
as I watch as new day
is born.
Sunrise
shakes her multi-hued skirts,
all around,
dazzeling
in pinks, purples, and golds,
as Sister Moon
releases the ground
from her hold.
Gently giving way.
Granting passage to this new day.
She'll return
to kiss it good night.
