Morning All, not sure how much it snowed last night, but I do know it snowed. I've heard everything from 1 - 3 inches, but it's still too dark out to tell. On the bright side, at least it isn't bitterly cold too. Plus, this is the last day of crazy hours for a while at least.

Whew! I survived! I've today off and plan on enjoying it. I'm thinkin of maybe taking a cat nap later, followed by 40 winks, and maybe even sneak in a nap before bedtime. lol - I hope everyone had a pleasant Valentine's Day. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

After church and lunch yesterday, we decided to clean up some tree limbs that son-in-law hasn't gotten "round to-it" for his wood burner. Fought with my chain saw, and got so frustrated, walked away. First it was bad spark plug, then plug wire, and last straw was when it acted like a plugged fuel filter. No school today (President's Day) so Miss Mylee spent the night with us and her brother will be down in a couple of hrs. It saves the cost of a day at the sitter. Got gut level feeling blood work from cancer center on Tuesday is gonna have bad numbers for the kidneys. Been feeling much better and have been able to cut back on pain meds. Think I'll go make an egg and cheese on toast sandwich for breakfast.

Morning all. Well today they're suppose to finish installing my stove. So far so good - it's up here and the old one is gone. However an outlet has to be put in before the stove can be hooked up. (Electric start - and I bulldogged the idea of an extension cord being ran from another outlet and across the ceiling. Thanks to all this time of knowing CT, I knew enough to say, "You know when fire department does its inspection, I don't think that's gonna fly - so why not do it right?" ) Hopefully, this doesn't turn into some huge freakin' project. It's hard to tell though when working in an old house lie this...
Now assuming the outlet goes smoothly, and he hooks up the stove properly - I just hope he remembers to bring some components to the stove that he told me were still being 'cleaned' - like the knobs, racks, burners, and broiler! - I should have a stove today! YAY!!!

I've got my stove finally! YAY!!! Only been without one since last May . It's a Whirlpool, white with black accents (the door is black, the top thingy where the clock is is black etc.) It's sooo pretty!
Those of you who heard the story of my words with the handyman would be proud of me - he lives.   And this time he was at least polite, not only that he brought me I guess you would call them presents.   Like a small table top ironing board, and some oranges. I guess trying to make amends.
Since the stove has an electronic start an outlet had to be installed - for some reason this involved destroying the bathroom wall as well as the kitchen wall.   So now I have to repair 2 walls, which also means repainting both rooms!
I was up late last night because of a domestic issue call from a friend.   The result was me being up til 2 and the alarm going off at 6. Result: hit snooze...hit snooze....hit....ooops! sorry, cat... stumble out of bed, play trip the human with cats. Grimace at the mess made of floors and holes in walls. Don't get the shower curtain closed just right add water to mess. Start coffee, mop up mess. Miss mouth with coffee - sorry, cat.   Click onto weather...stare at 'feels like 18' figure 2 layers should be enough. Get coffee refill, walk into door jam and spill hot liquid down front. Yelp - nothing like pain to wake you.   Pop into Attic and glance at postings. Hunt for long socks in sock drawer but find them already laid ontop of work clothes.   Grab another swallow of coffee.   Stare at stove while in kitchen and gingerly poke it to make sure is real. Crawl back to puter, with and peck this out.

It feels odd to know that by Saturday the MSN groups will be gone. Sortof...wistful. I know, totally weird of me, but it is how I feel. I imagine its how all the managers do, even though we've found new homes.
Everyone seems to be settling into the Attic well, and yet I worry... I worry that what I've done isn't enough. I worry that folks won't be happy, that the conversion will prove too much for them. Or that those who've joined us won't feel comfy. That somehow, I'll fall short of the mark. I worry about the 'original' attic dwellers. The move isn't easy on any of them, adapting to new ways of posting and a bunch of 'new family members'. LOL well, I guess at least we're all lost together.
Time to get ready for work...it's raining - lovely....

Oh Val...don't worry so much. You have done an awesome job here. This is a very nice and friendly place to be. I couldn't ask for a better place to call home now. I'm sure I speak for a few of us that you have done a great job of making us feel comfy.
I hope your original attic members don't feel dis-placed. We are not trying to take over or dis-place anyone, we are just wanted a place to be and hope we fit in with them. We all appreciate what you and all the other "originals" have done for us.
I agree with you come Saturday. The first time I click on Didi's Dungeon and I get Internet Explorer can't display this page..my heart will drop even tho I'm expecting it. The Dungeon has been a major part of my life for 5 years...it'll be like losing a friend.
Now...back to work...

oh, heaven's no, Didi, that isn't what I meant at all. I don't think anyone feels displaced within the Attic perse - but rather 'displaced' in general, if you follow?   Everyone is going through the same adjustments. Including you and me. Although this message board is close to the rich text editor we had on MSN it just is not the same.   So, we all stare at that tool bar thinking ' ok...if I want this then I click that?'   Sortof like the new kid in class - only we're ALL the 'new' old kids... There's what where? We HAVE that??? lol
I am glad to see you and the other Dungeonettes settling in, as well as others from other rooms. One day in the not too distant future, I hope we don't even think about who-from-where, but be truly blended.
I hold to the same maxim I did 8 years ago when 3 Paws came to be, "The Attic is not MINE, nor is it YOURS, but it is OURS."   I'm just a worry-wart sometimes.

Hey Val,
I think everything here is great. You're right it's not MSN but I just remember all the headaches MSN used to give me and I kinda think this place is neat! LOL! I'm settling in here really well and I'm really not one for change. To be honest with you I was kind of dragging my heels to come in here... even dragging my heels to do both Trivia games but now I love doing them and I love it here too. Like Debbies, my heart too will drop when the Dungeon is gone. But I'm glad and grateful to have this place to call my new home!!

And Didi, along with the rest of the dungeon, it is a pleasure to meet yous all and have yous with us biggrin ! I am so happy to hear you finally got your stove Val, and a nice one to boot from the sounds of it! Same ole, same ole around here, cant wait for spring, and thank heavens it is in sight.....mind you, just never can tell for sure in the "great white north" lol. Boys are doing well but getting restless, they cant wait for the weather to warm up...and well ......April is being April, per usual lol . Just a note re the chatathon this week end, Plum is hoping to get back on-line and participate...yeah!!!....and as usual she sends her best . Guess i better go and get a few hours sleep before the bratnicks wake up...will try and get into chat tonite...Byeee!

Last night, I thought I'd grab a little nap before coming into Chat. I am NOT usually a 'nap' person - but I was just sooo tired, and my leg was acting up...I think that was around 5 or so...next thing I know it's 6 am ...some nap!
Oh! I do hope Plumette makes it! That would be worth a party itself!

Good morning everyone....well if I can add my 2 cents worth....this is a great place Val and very easy to get around in...for the last couple of days I've had trouble getting in to AMIOO....and YUKU hasn't got a clue as to what they are doing....this site here and another one of mine which is also private are the only easy ones to get in....but look at something this way....if it wasn't for MSN we wouldn't be friends....my old friends are like family and getting to know new friends is great............so thanks for sharing your beautiful one line home with us...........ya all did good....hugs and love ya.......doris

UGH! No wonder I've been so tired lately, I've been trying to go into hibernation! Winter storm warning - 6 to 8 inches of snow expected. High today in the 20s, but windchills of single digits or lower.
I sent a support ticket about the weirdness over in posting games. It will probably be a day or 2 before we hear anything while they look into it. They've installed something called an activeboard task bar, and it might have something to do with it. I'm really not sure.
Tonight's the kick off for the warming chatathon. Are y'all ready? Should be interesting to see who shows up. Hope to see YOU there!

Morning, everybody! I think the chatathon went well. And judging from the ones who kept returning through the course, a success! Many thanks to cj,didi, and bird for manning hammers, and to mus and Duffylake for being on stand by! I am thrilled that at no point, that I know of were hammers needed. Everyone who came in behaved! As well as members of Didi's Dungeon, Canadaian Den, the Dartboard, and ourselves, we had several passerbys pop in too. At no point, did we have HUGE numbers in the room at one time, which was great by me, as it allowed folks to catch up and feel that they were getting to know the other persons in the room. It was great to chat with so many!

Yes Val it was great. I met up with a lot of ppl I haven't seen in awhile, through no fault of my own for not going to chat more often, and I met a lot of new ppl who's nics I've only seen. I had a good time for the time I was there. Sorry I wasn't there longer, but I ended up babysitting pretty much the whole day Saturday.
All in all it was fun. And my hats go off to all those that missed there sleep just to be there.

Yes, it does feel odd that MSN groups are actually gone now. Sort of a relief too.   It's finally over and done and we can all move on.

Well I have caught up so much I am waiting on others to post so I can........lol

It was soooooooo hot here today. In the 90's. I watched a 2 month old and my 3 year old granddaughter........wow it is going to get some getting use too........with the 3 year old I could take a "nap", this 2 month old doesn't nap much during the day and expects you to hold her all day..........I feel like I just worked out for 10 hours.......lol But guess what? I loved every minute of it.........the day I can't hold my own with a newborn is the day I will retire from life.........

They are predicting rain and T-storms for today, and the temps are very chilly although we're suppose to hit 42 f. It sounds bad enough that my mgr asked me to be sure I had cab fare with me, as I may need one either coming or going.
It seems I'm not the only one that is just plain tired. Yesterday she was telling me that she's been nodding off at the oddest times too. Strangely, that makes me feel better. I worry about being tired all the time. That just isn't normal. I do know I am fighting off some virus - sever headaches of migrain proportions, a bit of queasiness, odd little joint aches. Yada yada. Either it's a virus or I'm just getting old.
