Hi Debbie, Whoa, this is so different. I got lost I don't know how many times already! *sigh* This really does take some getting used to huh? How on earth do we add a picture in our biogragy thingy? I thought I did but it doesn't show up when I post. Oh well. Guess I'll figure that one out sometime. I can't even find out how to get to my profile! LOL! *totally lost* LOL! *hugs*
Well, things here in the Great White North are sure living up to it's name! LOL! I woke up to a snow filled driveway and can't go anywhere until my brother-in-law digs us out. Not that I really want to go anywhere! It's to miserable to go out there! LOL! Anyhoot, looks like a day on the computer for me! Whooo hoooo! LOL! Nice tag Musical, it shows so the post worked!
My driveway is finally all shoveled and clean, thanks to Chris my brother-in-law. Didn't go anywhere because it's too miserable. Now the temperatures are dropping fast. We are going to have a COLD one tonight and will stay that way for a few days.
We are having freezing weather. -30 without the wind chill. I HAD to go out today but it was no fun. Thank goodness my car was able to get started. So many around here needed jumps! Hope you all have a great day!
It's been freezing cold here lately and all the school buses were cancelled for today. We still have to go into work, we had a meeting but were let go at 11. Was nice, home early and I got some more work done around here. Iffy for driving tomorrow too. I hope we don't..lol
It's not just you. You hear it on the news everyday. Somewhere someone is having a terrible time. The worst weather ever. Mum says she can't ever remeber winter being this bad. :c(
OMG! What a day I had today. My car died. Needed to get a boost and get to the garage. After sitting there for 2 and a half hours I walked out with a car half fixed and a bill for 600 bucks! *sigh* I still have to get one more thing done. Maybe on Monday. Sheesh... what a pain cars are! LOL!
Always something eh, BEAN'ette? I guess the upside, is at least you weren't midway to somewhere when the car died. I seem to have developed a type of soft corn between two toes. It isn't 'hard' but not liquid filled like a blister. Hurts like heck - anyone got any ideas on how to remove it? Or make it hurt less?
Dang Beanie...Cars sure ain't cheap. Sorry Val..I don't know anything about corns. Hope you get it fixed soon. More renovations today..will be so glad when it's all done. We're back to a deep freeze here but it's suppose to only be for a few days....I sure hope so..lol
Sorry Val, I can't help you with the corn problem either. I've never had one. I had a better day today. I went to my friends wedding. She was gorgeous in a soft blush beaded gown with a full open back. She was gorgeous. You should have seen the hubby's face when he saw her. Obviously he didn't have a clue what her dress was going to look like. He almost fainted! LOL! It was prescious!
Having a great day so far. Went to church, took Mum and her friend out for breakfast and managed to get tickets to see Robin Williams in concert in March! Whooo Hoooo!! I'm so excited!
Congratulations on finally getting your furniture Debbie. You must be so happy! I've been busy this weekend. Had company and couldn't really do much posting. Today my car goes back in the garage. I hope this is it! *crossing fingers* LOL!
Had company over the weekend, and worked yesterday (which was suppose to be a day off for me.) The woman I covered for is evidently having a nightmare of a move. Truck not being there when suppose to, folks who were suppose to help not showing up, her grown son being an idiot, etc. I feel for her, I really do, but until she stands up for herself any situation is going down like this one. Like my mom use to say, if you're going to act like a door mat, don't cry when people wipe their feet on you. New furiniture, Deb? I am sooo jealous!! Good for you! BEAN'ette, if that car is nickle and diming you, might be time to trade it in for a newer one.
LOL! Val... I like what your Mum used to say! Makes a lot of sense! As for my car, it's finally fixed. The garage fixed it again for free cause it wasn't fixed right the first time. I was so happy! Now my car is well and it's a gorgeous day, what else could I ask for? LOL!
Went looking at vehicles today. I saw a truck today but think a van might be better. I also had my 3 month check-up. All is well... blood pressure is right on, blood sugars are good... I had a great day!
I think the animated Series Cowboy Bebop is a true classic. While most of you probably go "Huh?" when someone mentions anime and the rest probably think of giant robots or super-powered miniskirted schoolgirls this show doesn't all fall into those categories.
Cowboy Bebop is a film noire styled action/adventure series set about 65 years from now. It has characters you can get caught up in, storylines that span an episode, several episodes, or the whole series. It also has a good deal of high quality original music, mostly jazz and blues.
One of the characters is a young woman named Faye Valentine, though the last name was given to her by a doctor since she has little memory of who she really is. Faye was born in 1994, but she was seriously injured in an accident and was placed into cryosleep until she could be healed in some future time. She was healed and awakened, and left with enormous medical debts as a result - her curse in this strange new future.
As the series progressed she hooked up with Spike Spiegel and Jet Black, two bounty hunters with their own pasts to deal with. One day a package arrives for Faye while she's out. The boys become so curious they go to great lengths to obtain an ancient TV set and VHS player so they can see what it is about.
Here (sorry, can't find an English dubbed copy but it has subtitles) they get ready to play the tape for the first time:
All good things come to an end, and as the series ends the Bebop team begins to break up. Faye's memories begin to return, and she has sought out her childhood home - now in ruins. Ed (a young girl previously believed to be an orphan) has found her father and leaves to go after him, taking Ein (the dog) along with her since it seems to fit his whim.
Once again no English-dubbed version seems to be on YouTube but this one has subtitles:
LOL...there's the Zeus I remember. Still with the Chinese eh? Cool stuff...I really do miss your hmmm...can't think of the right word...lol Hope to see you in chat soon.
Checking a few air fares, car rental costs, etc. it looks like $1000 can get you to a number of places and keep you there for 5 days without too much strain.
Cutting it back to 4 days, sharing a room, and pulling another $250 out of hiding you could do it up better and afford things like show or theme park tickets too, and avoid eating McFood and hotel "continental breakfast" fare every day. But a 3 day trip should be pretty easy on $1000.
No matter how frugal you are to stretch it to a full 5 days it is still pretty tough squeezing out $1000, no question.
But where would you go?
Fancy schmantzy cruises and such are out. Too expensive. Sorry, no European vacations either. Still, there must be places to go and things to see out there within reach.
This section is for people who want to vacation in an adults only atmosphere. Some of the resorts here will cater to romance and couples atmosphere, some will be more for singles, but all of these resorts will have restrictions so that children are not permitted. In some cases this means no children under the age of 16 and in other cases it means no one under 18 years. Some resorts, such as Hedonism, are not suitable for children due to their own philosophy of “Be Wicked for a Week.” The really funny part only becomes clear when you click on the link. That web page has a banner graphic with a couple of pretty decrepit old folks sitting around. And yes, some of us do resemble that remark.
