Went to work on about 45 minutes sleep... so of course now i am yawning a bit... yawn   Have been giving our warming party some thought... and am thinking since MSN was suppose to pull the plug on groups  Feb 21, originally ( a Saturday)  then perhaps that is when we should have it.  I'd like to have it all finalized before the end of January  so all 'adopted' rooms  can use their old rooms 'email all members'   functions to get the word out  and maybe rope in a few stragglers.   This will also give everyone  a chance to email all their MSN buddies about it too.   I need help figuring out time slots, advertizements, invite wording - any volunteers?

Not too bad of a day today...actually made it into the 40s!!!  Work was long...I had a scare at the dumpster - a gloved hand was sticking up from it!   I have no urge to tangle with a dumpster diver or worse a dead body.  But then I noticed the glove seemed angled a tad odd...whew  just a stiff work glove - no hand or body....somebody has a very strange sense of humor I guess.   Well, I am off to peruse the boards!

Good Saturday, everybody!   yawn  It's darn cool here - temps a negative 10f with windchill of neg24.   I looked it up and thats a -22c with windchill of
-31c.   Yep a might bit cool.   Fortunately, I just happen to have today off  and don't have to contend with walking in it.  Though my bedroom does feel a bit like an igloo would, I imagine confuse.   Is ok - I can stay in my jammies all day if I wanna .    The most exciting thing on my docket is paying some bills... oooo huh?  lol

Hi Ice! Glad to see you!   A "Sunday Newsletter", must have been MSN's weekly digest of group happenings.   I hadn't really thought of doing one for here.  If enough would like it, I suppose I could generate one though.
Work just called asking if I could work tomorrow - sure what would I do with 2 days off touching?  confuse So now, I have to figure out if I can do everything I was going to do in one day.   I can't blame Bridgett though - I wouldn't want to work 2 open to closes either.   (I did not play the 'but YOU made the bloomin' schedual' card - I'm so proud of me for that.)   All I was really going to do is clean anyway - and gee it really breaks my heart if I can't deep clean the whole place bleh lol.
Beanie ( justjellybean) dropped me a line to let us know that she has surgery schedualed for Feb.10, and won't be allowed to use her arm for 6 weeks after.   She wants me to pass a "Hi' along to you all, and hopes to make it into chat for a bit one night soon.
Plum is still trying to get her computer repaired and also sends greetings.

Hmmm it's 10 F here, feels like -2...no wonder I'm a bit chilly...
I feel for ya, Didi -  you'll just get adjusted to that extra hour, and it'll switch back.   Due to flu going through work, I worked 12 hours yesterday, no breaks to speak of.   Today -not sure - might be 5 - might be 8 - might be 12 again...  Pampered myself a bit by grabbing a cab home.   After standing 12 hours, I just didn't feel like walking 3 miles home in the dark.   In bed by 12:30  up at 6 - a bit tired still.   coffeecup.gif please.

Today was interesting....discovered the hard way that the water main was shut off, so no water, which means essentially twiddling thumbs for an hour at work, was told *go ahead and take off, since we are gonna be closed for however long it takes", so took off...made for a good day :)

Good morning to all.   Last week has been a pain, literaly.   Muscles and joints just ache.   Chat with my local doc, and he thinks it's the cancer. He did re-write a perscription for the pain meds. The sofa was getting very uncomfortable, so last night I managed to navigate the stairs and slept in a bed.  We've used the snow blower more so far this year than we did all of last yr, and January isn't over yet (almost but not quite).

Good to see you, CT!
February, is just around the corner, and that makes me nervous, because, in Illinois, that's when we generally get our worst winter weather, and with the winter we've been having...disbelief I don't even wanna think about it.
I'm expecting company this weekend, and am really excited.  I don't expect I will be in chat, or on the boards, as we've alot of catching up to do.   We'll probably just hang out around my place and natter the time away.  Haven't seen each other in about 7 years.   Since I have to work tomorrow morning, I'll probably be doing last minute things tonight.  Like run the vaccume etc.  Funny, how you always think things aren't clean enough when someone is coming, but are plenty clean enough when just you. confuse

Good Morning all...Val hope your guests are coming to see you and not how clean your place is although having company is always a good excuse to do the cleaning we usually put off. Having my morning coffee and doing my weekly nosing around here. Looks like we are going to have a another mild day  so it'll be a good  for my daily walk. I have been trying to beat off a few pounds....why do they go on so much faster than they come off?
Anyway have a good day everyone. xoxoxox

-2 f here, with a windchill of -22... flippin cold.  Everyone at work has had the flu, and I feel like I maybe getting it too.  Not really sick - just off kilter a bit.  Slept alot yesterday as I felt chilled, and just could not get warm.   Not looking forwards to the hike into work.  But, gotta do what ya gotta do.

This would be another good day to stay inside, temps in the negatives right now, but it looks like by the time I set out for work, we'll have a toasty 1 F windchill.    Personally, I don't understand the concept of airtemp (actual temperature) vs windchill.   If I'm cold then I'm bloody well cold.   I don't think my body knows if it's airtemp or windchill causing it. I bundle up according to windchill.

Something doesn't seem right with our work schedual, so I need to check it out when I get to work.  This whole upcoming week is messed up due to Valentine's day.   Opening early, closing later.  Does anyone actually buy candy at 8 am???   Maybe at a Quicky Mart, or in a mall.   Gotta wonder where the 'suits' have their brains at.  Yeah we MIGHT sell a box of candy, but it's costing the company hundreds in overhead...   Ok, I think I'm done whining.  Now I gotta get ready to go in.   lol

It's Saturday, hot dang. I have lots on the sked for today if my body will put up with it. I want to swap out a VHF TV antenna on the house with one from the radio room. Then I'll "tweak" a UHF antenna. Of course the feed-lines have to be 'dressed' on the pole and along the beams and floor joists in the basement. I think we'll have the grandkids today. We stopped by their place last night on our way home from supper, and Miss Mylee Rose ( age 22 months) waned to come with us then. Looks like I'm gonna need an eye exam and new glasses soon. My drivers license is up for renewal in 3 months, and right now I'm not sure how I'd do on the eye exam portion reading 'line 5'. Muscle and joint pain has eased a bit, but still doing two doses of pain med a day.

Hope all enjoy the weekend

Well...so far today has been interesting. I repaired my computer and I did my taxes evileye...it looks promising.  Then I started the revamping of the Game room.  Ok...I NEED some extra strength advil or something. This HTML stuff is kicking my tush!  lol.   MSN had so spoiled me, and I don't think the revamp will be done in one sitting, but I do hope when it's finished, it will please the game players amoung you.  For those of you who didn't even know we had a game room - shame on you!  lol.
CT- be careful you don't over do.

lol too cute, Ice! Thanks for sharing!
Too early to be awake here coffeecup.gif  although at 6:45 am the rest of this week, I'll be scooting out the door.  Corporate is making us open the doors at 8 am, which means I have to be there at 7:30... pretty sure this comes under cruel and unusual punishment.   Nobody buys expensive chocolate at 8 am - what planet is corporate on?   Oh, well, at least it's only for this week. But I bet by next Sunday I'm totally fried.

I did absolutely nothing yesterday except play on the pc.  I quess with all the reno's and such I just wore myself out and had no energy to do anything.  Feeling much better today.  Weather is looking promising too finally.  I tired of bundling up to go to work so much that I can't even move...
Have a good day

Good morning, everyone!  coffeecup.gif  yawn It's cloudy and very overcast today. Woudn't surprise me if it rained.  So far with the snow melting, the flooding has been kept at a minimal which makes me happy. Also the walks seem to have stayed mostly dry - they say we'll dip back into the 20s and teens, and I was NOT looking forwards to the resulting ice fields.  Especially since I'll be walking to work before sunrise even.  Hard enough to negotiate the ice when you can see it.
I so hear you, Didi, I know I've been wearing so many layers for the hike into work that if I fell, I'd be like a little turtle on my back.
I am sooo ready for some colour too.

Hmmm guess Cj's new theme song is "row row row your boat."  We're right back to freezing here.  Well at least for now it isn't SO many multiple layers.
I will be so glad when this week is over.  That reminds me, I have to remember to get next weeks schedual from work - kinda helps if I know when to be there.   Yesterday the night girl was late, and since it was fairly steady I stayed until she got there.  I wasn't going to leave Bridgette alone with that mob.   ( A wee funny here - I kicked her out for a break before I was schedualed to leave.  Guy standing there over hears me telling her to go, as I don't know if she will get one after I leave.  "I'm timing you - go! go! go!" Bridget grabbed her coat and ran.  The guy says to me, "You're a nice boss - mine could care less if I get a break."  He sure looked confused when I said  "oh no - she's the manager."

Most of the snow is gone from a couple of nice warm days.  Some areas prone to flooding are as to be expected.  Most of our "North Swamp" has drained into the pond, (pond overflow is running full tilt) and the "South Swamp" is almost up to the storage shed.
Last night, cold front whipped thru with HIGH winds.  I got woke up a little after 2 AM, and Mrs T told me power was out.  Got up, lite a couple of oil lamps, called the elecrtic co. power outage line, and hooked the basement sump pump into a DC to AC inverter on my truck.  Decided it might be a while, so isolated us from power grid, went to the barn and fired up the generator to run furnace, water pump, 'fridge, freezers, some lights, etc.  Power came back on after 5 AM.  School was canx because of power outages, so Mrs T is home.  I stayed home, but fire dept has been busy with wires, trees, and poles across roads.

We're back into the 20s and the only good thing I can think of is sunrise is now at 6:51, so I'm not out too long in the dark.   I don't mind the dark, and personally even like it, but a little light sure helps on the path.  I'm tired.  Even after crashing around 8pm last night.   My body aches and I feel like I'm fighting the flu.  I keep reminding myself it's only for a while longer.   They're predicting snow/rain for tomorrow - joy.disbelief
