I just recieved news via Bird's friend, Jerry, that Bird was admitted to the hospital this afternoon ( 3/8).  Details are sketchy at best.  It is due to the cancer, but last word was he is 'being checked out'.  Which as we know can mean just about anything.  Please keep him in your thoughts, and send him healing prayers. 
I will post updates here as I get them.

Thank you Val for telling us.  I don't know Bird that well, but what I do know I like.  My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and friends.

UPDATE:
Against Doctor's advice, Bird has left the hospital. He was even in chat last night!  He has a respertory infection.
