The Great Shattering

We were all once one,
in the time before,
the Great Shattering.
When the woman we once were simply splintered,
flew apart,
as demons feasted on her heart.
Now, we lay in random bits.
I guess, that isn't quite so,
we are distinctly different,
each a piece of the whole.
There is  Child,
who longs so,
for a sweet and a hug.
Perhaps a new toy.
But she hides in the dark,
afraid that any of it will be followed
by days of no joy.
Closets of darkness.
Tears of no end.
Rebellious Teen,
pops large bubbles of gum.
She has a smart mouth,
and a micheivious grin.
Her pretense of innocense will do you in.
Then there is Mother,
her name says it all,
she is the one who holds us together
when we fall.
Warrior, stands firm
not allowing more damage in.
It is in her shadow we shelter.
Then there is me,
I am the Keeper.
I am from the time before,
during, and future.
The one trying to marshal them,
Quiet the din
fitting them all in
to the jig-saw
that once was her soul.
It's becoming crowded in here,
we grow a bit each day,
as another piece is found.
On the day
we fit the last piece,
we shall say,
welcome home,
to me.
