preparing for a winter freeze
Permalink

we had a winter freeze 5 or 6 weeks ago.the worse of it lasted 5 days.in which the temps remained below the freezing temp.and the electric was off most of the time.and no,I wasn't fully prepared for that.i have gas kitchen stove, that I used little as possible.i have candles, warm blankets, oil lamps, battery operated lanterns, long johns.and winter jackets. I've added to that list since then.the new items is a portable buddy heater and 6-1LB propane tanks..

here's a better list of what I have.

candles for heat and light

oil lamps and fuel.for light and heat.. but I only use them when there's not enough candles.

longs john's.i need more of them.

plenty of warm blankets.

winter jackets

2 insulated jump suit's.one has a zipper that needs replacing.

one propane heater and propane tank

a ski mask.with the face n neck cut to open it up. (clostophobic)

winter gloves

winter socks.

a battery operated fan to surculate  the air.i need more of them.and rechargable batteries.

I need car chains for the car.

no fire place or wood stove heater.on account I now live in a apartment.

 edit..I forgot.i also now have

SILANON Crampons Ice Cleats for Shoes and Boots,Snow Traction Cleats for Women Men Kids Anti Slip 24 Spikes Shoes Walk Traction Cleats on Snow and Ice, for when things are iced over outside.

as a saying goes..it's better to have it and not need it.compared to not having it and need it

I moved into a 2 bedroom all electric apartment at the first of this month. it's a a wood house that got turned into two apartments.and it sits off of the ground.its not well insulated, and it's drafty.and no central heat.so I'm relearning some ways to staying warm.it looks like I'll be getting more buddy heaters. Especially for when the electric is out.
